What We Do
We work with governments, organizations, and individuals in over 35 countries to address issues like inhumane practices and conditions affecting companion and farm animals. We're a global organization with a presence in many parts of the world.
We're involved with international agreements like CITES and the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals, which help protect endangered species. We also work with organizations like the International Whaling Commission to promote animal welfare.
We lobby governments and organizations to pass laws and policies that protect animals, like the World Trade Organization and the World Organization for Animal Health. We also work with chemical and pharmaceutical regulators to reduce or end animal testing.
We provide training for veterinarians, animal control workers, and even government agencies like Costa Rica's Judicial Investigation Agency. This helps them enforce animal protection laws and prosecute animal cruelty cases.
We promote strict vegetarianism among individuals and corporations, and we host an annual Animal Care Expo to raise awareness about animal welfare issues.
