Volunteers have evenings free and normally relax at the centre or sometimes arrange a trip into the local town to enjoy the bars and restaurants.
You'll have one day off per week to explore the area, with plenty of activities to get involved in, or you could spend your free time by the pool.
There's so much to do in the area, including snorkelling, catamaran trips, whale watching (seasonal), canopy tours / zip-lining, horse riding, surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and much more!

We'll be visiting the Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center, the largest and oldest animal sanctuary in Costa Rica, situated on 36 acres of natural forest.
This non-profit has over 30 years of experience breeding endangered species and restoring habitats, truly dedicated to conserving Costa Rica's wildlife.
Only animals who would otherwise not survive in the wild are kept at the center, with the majority being released into two of their protected wild release sites.
The 2% of animals that cannot be released are who we'll encounter during our time volunteering, and they include monkeys, sloths, jaguars, tapirs, reptiles, and birds.
