About Us
We're a team of passionate individuals who believe in the transformative power of horses. Our journey began with a shared dream of creating a unique therapeutic program that combines equine-assisted activities with traditional therapy methods.
We've seen firsthand the impact of trauma on individuals, particularly children, and the difficulties they face in traditional therapy settings. Our program is specifically designed to address these challenges.
Our approach is centered around the concept of "therapeutic horsemanship", which uses horses as a catalyst for emotional growth and healing. This approach has been shown to be highly effective in reducing stress and anxiety.
A different take: Therapeutic Horsemanship
We work closely with a team of experienced therapists, trainers, and equine specialists to create a safe and supportive environment for our clients. Our team is dedicated to providing a high level of care and attention to each individual.
Our program is tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, taking into account their specific challenges and goals. This personalized approach allows us to make meaningful progress and achieve lasting results.
We've had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and age groups, and have witnessed remarkable transformations. Our clients have reported reduced symptoms of anxiety and depression, improved self-esteem, and increased confidence.
Our commitment to excellence is evident in every aspect of our program, from the quality of our equine partners to the expertise of our staff. We're proud to be part of a growing community of equine-assisted therapy programs that are making a real difference in people's lives.
What Is the Goal?
The goal of Dream a Dream Therapeutic Horsemanship is to help people reach their fullest potential, gain self-confidence, and develop self-love through the power of horses in a peaceful, mountain setting.
The organization aims to provide training and education in horsemanship and therapeutic horseback riding for people with various challenges, including physical, mental, cognitive, and emotional disabilities. This is made possible through individualized lesson plans designed by instructors who take into account the participant's specific needs and goals.
The benefits of horseback riding are threefold: physical, emotional, and social. Physically, riding relaxes and strengthens muscles while improving body tone, posture, balance, joint mobility, and coordination. Emotionally, it provides a noncompetitive setting for learning, building self-confidence through new abilities, self-discipline, and improved concentration.
Therapeutic riding has been shown to improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. In fact, 45% of D2D participants in 2022 had some kind of physical disability, highlighting the need for accessible therapeutic recreation opportunities.
Here are some of the challenges that D2D has helped participants overcome:
- Autism
- Learning disabilities
- Traumatic brain injury
- Cerebral palsy
- Down syndrome
- PTSD
- Muscular dystrophy
- Emotional/behavioral health
- At-risk youth
- Stroke
- Substance abuse
- Gender issues
- Grief

Charting
Charting is a crucial step in understanding the impact of a program. Four powerful questions help us reflect on what really matters - results.
To chart our progress, we need to set clear goals and outcomes. Results are what truly matter, and they should be the focus of our efforts.
A program's success can be measured by its ability to deliver tangible results. We need to ask ourselves if the program is making a meaningful difference in people's lives.

By charting our impact, we can make data-driven decisions and adjust our strategies accordingly. This helps us stay focused on what's truly important - results.
Ultimately, charting our progress is about being intentional and deliberate in our efforts. We need to make sure we're working towards meaningful outcomes that make a real difference.
