At Noah's Ark Animal Welfare Association, our mission is to ensure the well-being of dogs and cats through essential care and shelter. We work tirelessly to provide a safe and comfortable environment for these animals.

We focus on the core needs of dogs and cats, including spay and neutering services, which not only benefit individual animals but also contribute to increasing the life-saving capacity of dogs and cats in our regions.

Our spay/neuter surgeries are scheduled weekly on Tuesday and Thursday mornings with our veterinarian. This commitment to animal welfare is evident in our daily operations, and our mission continues to touch the lives of countless dogs and cats in our communities.

All NAAWA adoptions include spay or neuter, vaccinations, and de-worming. We also offer microchip installation and reference for free microchip registration, as well as 30 days of free pet health insurance, which can be easily activated by phone.

We strive to provide a comprehensive support system for adopted animals and their owners, including a receipt of adoption fee payment, rabies vaccination certificate, microchip information, and information on how to activate pet health insurance.

Rainbow Angels Tragedy

The Rainbow Angels Tragedy was a heart-wrenching event that occurred on March 7, 1997, at the Noah's Ark Rainbow Angels animal shelter in Iowa. It was a devastating loss of 8 beloved cats, including Thomas, Timmy, Whitey, Puff, Jackson, Sprouty, Waldo, and one other cat whose name was not mentioned.

These cats had been residents of the shelter for an average of over 10 years, with some having been there for as long as 13 years. They had been waiting for a loving home, but unfortunately, their lives were cut short.

The tragedy was a turning point for the shelter, which went on to work tirelessly with organizations like the Humane Society of the US, In Defense of Animals, and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary to advocate for stronger animal abuse laws in Iowa.

The shelter's efforts paid off, and Iowa passed a felony animal abuse law, setting a precedent for other states to follow. This achievement is a testament to the power of perseverance and the impact that one tragedy can have on creating positive change.

Adjusting Services And Operations

Adjusting services and operations is crucial for adapting to changing circumstances. This can be seen in the example of a company that reduced its workforce by 20% to stay afloat during a recession.

Changes to services can be made in response to shifting customer needs. For instance, a business that shifted its focus from in-store shopping to online sales during the pandemic saw a significant increase in revenue.

Operations can be streamlined to improve efficiency. A study found that companies that implemented process improvements saw an average increase in productivity of 15%.

Adjusting operations can also involve investing in new technology. A company that implemented automation in its manufacturing process saw a 30% reduction in production costs.

It's essential to monitor and evaluate the impact of changes to services and operations. Regular assessments can help identify areas for improvement and inform future adjustments.

One of the key features of these shelters is the use of sustainable materials, such as recycled plastic and reclaimed wood, which reduces waste and supports local economies.

The association's team carefully selects materials that are durable and long-lasting, ensuring that the shelters can withstand harsh weather conditions.

Innovative designs, such as the use of green roofs and solar panels, help to reduce energy consumption and create a self-sustaining ecosystem.

By building eco-friendly shelters, the Noah's Ark Animal Welfare Association sets an excellent example for others to follow, demonstrating that animal welfare and environmental sustainability go hand in hand.
