Police Adopt Dog

The police department in Cadillac, Michigan, really went above and beyond for a sweet dog named Hazel.

Hazel was found at a meth lab bust and had no owners to take her, so the police decided to take her in.

The local animal shelter was not accepting dogs due to a virus in their kennels, so the police had to come up with a different plan.

The night shift officers teamed up to buy Hazel food and toys, and they even played with her and kept her company.

Hazel spent the night curled up at the feet of the night shift officers while they worked on reports.

She even got into the K9 Sage's toy stash, which shows how much attention she was getting.

If the arrangement with Hazel's relative doesn't work out, the police department has plenty of interested people who want to take her in.

Hazel is a black Labrador, and she's been a sweetheart according to Officer Jeff Rork.

Dog Dies After Finding Meth Bag

In Chisago County, Minnesota, a dog died after getting into a discarded Subway bag filled with methamphetamine. The bag was found in a ditch off County Road 9/Oasis Road.

The dog's owner suspected it may have gotten into something after the pet was acting strangely and appeared sick. The owner found the Subway bag filled with 80 grams of meth and drug tools.

A local vet was unable to save the dog. Chisago County Sergeant Kyle Puelston suspects the drugs were tossed out a vehicle window by someone who was being pulled over or feared being pulled over.

The Chisago County Sheriff's Office has no suspects in the case.
