Mad Max Blue Heeler: A Tale of Rescue and Loyalty

Meet Mad Max, the Blue Heeler with a heart of gold. He was rescued from a shelter, where he spent most of his life waiting for a forever home.

Mad Max was born to be a working dog, bred from a line of Australian Cattle Dogs. His ancestors were designed to herd cattle on vast ranches.

As a Blue Heeler, Mad Max has a strong instinct to chase and herd. This is due to his genetic makeup, which includes a high prey drive and strong herding instincts.

Mad Max's loyalty is unwavering, and he has formed strong bonds with his human family.

The Dog was a blue heeler that was adopted by stunt co-ordinator Max Aspin and his wife Dale after filming for Mad Max 2.

He was originally found at Sydney Shelter, one of the largest animal shelters in New South Wales, where Dale Aspin auditioned over 100 dogs to find the perfect one.

Dale Aspin noticed Dog's energy and picked him, saving him from being euthanized.

Despite being a blue heeler, a breed known to be territorial and try to bite moving car tires, Dog was already a fan of playing fetch, making him a suitable candidate for the role.

After filming, everyone wanted to adopt Dog due to his affectionate nature.

Max and Dale Aspin eventually decided to adopt him, moving him to their farm in Gosford, north of Sydney.

However, they couldn't keep an eye on him as they were constantly working on movies, so they handed him over to another Mad Max 2 stuntman, Gary Gauslaa.

The Dog lived out the rest of his days with Gary Gauslaa, continuing to enjoy his time on the farm.
