A DIY dog bed with storage is a great way to keep your home cozy and organized. You can build one using reclaimed wood and a storage ottoman.

The average dog sleeps 12-14 hours a day, so a comfortable bed is a must. Choose a material that's easy to clean and durable, like a waterproof fabric.

A storage compartment can hold your dog's favorite toys and blankets, keeping them out of the way but still accessible. This is especially useful if you have a small living room.

You can customize the size of your dog bed to fit your home decor and your dog's preferences. Consider a rectangular shape with a removable cover for easy cleaning.

DIY Dog Bed Options

I coincidentally already had a box shape at the right depth from my old treadmill desk.

You can use a box shape to create a DIY dog bed, as seen in the example of making a storage bed for pets.

A box shape is a versatile and easy-to-work-with design.

The length of the box shape can be adjusted to fit your dog's needs, as was done by shortening the length of the box from a treadmill desk.

Storage Design

To get started with your storage design, you'll need to measure your drawer. I measured my drawer by cutting offcuts of plywood to the same width as my DIY dog bed. Make sure to take precise measurements to ensure a snug fit.

A well-designed storage space can make a big difference in keeping your dog's bed area tidy. I used a nail finish to make my drawer extra strong, and I'd recommend doing the same to prevent any damage or wear and tear.

For the front of the drawer, consider using a piece of plywood that matches the same width as your dog bed. I cut another offcut of plywood to the same width as my DIY dog bed and used it for the front of the drawer.

Adding a drawer face can also help with the overall look and functionality of your storage space. I chamfered all the edges with a router and a 45-degree chamfer router bit to give it a smooth finish.

To add some extra support to your storage space, consider adding slats underneath. I drilled and screwed a strip to match the same height as the side sections and nailed offcuts resting on top while running the opposite way.

All-in-One Pet Area Ideas

Creating an all-in-one pet area can be a game-changer for pet owners. This can be achieved by designing a cabinet that stores food in bins, hooks for walking equipment, and stashes toys and grooming supplies inside baskets.

You can customize the storage area with a variety of organizers to fit all your pet's needs. This will help keep everything tidy and out of sight.

Having an all-in-one pet storage area can also help reduce clutter in your home. By storing everything in one place, you'll have more space to move around and enjoy time with your pet.

Consider adding bins to store your pet's food, making it easy to see when they need to be refilled. This can also help keep your kitchen counters clear.

A well-designed all-in-one pet area can make a big difference in keeping your home organized and your pet happy.
