Appaloosa stud horses have been crossing their beautiful spotted coats with other breeds to create something truly unique. One of the resulting breeds is the Great Spot Sport Horse.

The Great Spot Sport Horse is a cross between an Appaloosa and a warmblood, resulting in a horse with impressive athletic ability and a stunning coat pattern. They are known for their intelligence, agility, and endurance.

Appaloosa stud horses have been used to create this breed because of their impressive spotted coat, but also because of their athletic ability and calm temperament.

Appaloosa Stud Horses

Appaloosa stud horses can be registered with two organizations, the Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) and the Appaloosa World Sports (AWS).

Double registration is an option for some Appaloosa stud horses, like J S Great Spot, who is registered with both ApHC and AWS.

Stud horses like J S Great Spot can be the result of breeding champion lines, such as his grandfather, who was a champion.

Great Spot Sport Horse

Great Spot Sport Horse is a registered Appaloosa stallion, specifically a 2013 double registered (ApHC & AWS) dark bay leopard Appaloosa stallion.

He's a son of Butterwap Confetti and a grandson of two champion Appaloosas.

2017 Stallion

A 2017 Appaloosa stallion is described as being available for cooled semen shipment, but not live cover.

This stallion is registered with both the ICAA and ApHC, and has a 6-Panel NN.

A MILLION DREAMS, a 2021 ApHC stallion, is not for sale, and his fee includes the first collection and FedEx shipment.

Ranch Information

Running N Ranch was owned and managed by Noel and Helen Cook, both foundation members and Hall of Fame inductees of the AAA.

They imported many Appaloosa horses for Running N Ranch and other Australian parties, showcasing their horses and winning numerous Australian National awards.

Nevada Devil Dancer was one of the stallions imported by Noel and Helen, and he was recognized as the first Hi Point National Performance Sire.

Colida's Lad was a prized stallion, approved as a performance and halter sire, and he won multiple awards, including the 1975 Hi Point Halter and Hi Point Performance Horse at the Appaloosa Nationals.

He was the first AAA horse to receive his all-round Superior award and the first horse inducted into the AAA Hall of Fame.

Running N Ranch closed its gates for the last time in February 2013, after many years of breeding and showcasing Appaloosa horses.
