About Us.

"Los Bomberos of Northern California", was founded in 1972 by two Stanford Firefighters who wanted to promote the Latino culture within the fire service.

The early goals included increasing Latinos membership into the fire service and providing guidance and support to those pursuing promotional opportunities. Today, we also recognize our responsibility as role models and leaders in the community. As a result of this distinction, the goals of the Bomberos have grown to include; "Commitment to Community Service". This commitment is reflected in the various projects we have become associated with over the last 32 years.

The Latino Firefighters Association (Los Bomberos of Northern California) is a professional organization which consists of Latino firefighters both active and retired. The organization is involved in many community activities such as speaking and mentoring in local schools, providing guidance and information about fire service careers, teaching fire protection safety in the home, instructing C.P.R. classes, teaching fire protection safety in the home, installing smoke detectors as well as host community meetings and activities.

The object of this Association is the cultivation of fraternal fellowship between the different departments belonging to this Association; the protection and promotion of the best interests of the firefighters and the citizens they serve Community Outreach Safety Programs
